Nalin Rastogi

Résumé

Nalin Rastogi earned a PhD (1981) and a DSc (1984) in Microbiology from University of Paris, and successively worked as a Senior Research Fellow at Institut Pasteur, Paris (1983-1992), Director of TB & Mycobacteria Unit at Institut Pasteur de la Guadeloupe (1993-2018), and Director of WHO Supranational TB Reference Laboratory for the Americas (2009-2018). To honor his scientific contributions, he was nominated as "Directeur de Recherche de Classe Exceptionnelle" at Institut Pasteur in January 2013. He left Institut Pasteur de la Guadeloupe in June 2018 to settle down in Paris, France. During a research career spanning 40 years, Nalin Rastogi directed more than 140 trainees, (including 22 postgraduates and 14 PhDs), and authored almost 400 papers. A renowned expert on tuberculosis diagnostics, drug resistance & molecular epidemiology, he also coordinated one of the biggest TB genotyping databases in the world (SITVIT2). A nominated Faculty member & Editor with F1000 (2009-2018), his research mainly focused on global TB transmission & Geo-localization for the last 2 decades. Nalin Rastogi is now looking for new challenges including consultancy.
