Comprehensive analysis of the contribution of protein kinases to antifungal resistance in the fungal pathogens Candida glabrata and Candida auris. Protein kinases holds a key position in the regulation of multiple metabolic processes but less than 30% have been functionally characterized in these species. The projects will combine molecular approaches to the function of protein kinases in antifungal resistance and tolerance as well as the identification and characterization of kinase inhibitors with relevant activities in the investigated species.
